“Come one, come all” is the inclusive, sustainable, and accessible philosophy behind House of Brown Wines in Saint Helena, CA in the eastern hills of the Napa Valley.
House of Brown, created to expand access to the Brown wine experience, is a second label of Brown Estate, Napa’s first Black-owned estate winery. HOB wine is produced by women of color, certified sustainable, and vegan friendly. Their dream is to create a family of palate-driven wines made from fruit sustainably grown in California’s Central Valley.
In 2010, Brown Estate celebrated thirty years in the Napa Valley and their fifteenth crush. Through these two-plus decades, Coral Brown, Director of Winemaking, penned tasting notes and curated small-bite pairings for all the Brown Estate wines. Coral says, “This experience afforded me a breadth and depth of understanding of both the hallmarks and variations our vineyards manifest. Concurrent with developing my palate at home, I have conducted informal inquiries into the history, philosophy, and technical aspects of winemaking while taking every opportunity to sample wine from other regions, both domestic and foreign. This self-guided education, along with years of shadowing my brother in our vineyards and cellar, ultimately inspired me to pursue a winemaking certificate at UC Davis. My formal courses there have been a revelatory complement to my DIY studies in the science and art of making wine.”
House of Brown believes, “Where there is wine, there are stories to be told.” Memories, reflections, and a story of a years-long journey from wine to glass. House of Brown Wines are easy drinking, anytime-anywhere wines that are always in season.
Weaver Street Market is thrilled to carry the House of Brown Chardonnay, the flagship of this label.
