Founded by Michael Robinson II, Winston-Salem based Bingo-Bango Fresh Fruit Soda Co. specializes in handcrafted, all-natural, fresh fruit soda. Michael began work on his first batch of craft soda in 2017 using the juicer given to his mother by his late grandfather. The phrase “Bingo-Bango!”, was often used by Michael’s grandfather, Emile Worthy Sr., to symbolize the flavor, creation, or sound of something amazing. Bingo Bango, heavily influenced by his Creole New-Orleans lineage, is beautifully inspired by his grandfather’s love for music, the arts, and craftsmanship.
Michael built Bingo Bango one piece of equipment at a time. Using his years of craft beer, soda, and wine experience, as well as lots of energy, Michael began selling his creation at local flea markets and festivals. After trial and error, exploding kegs, sticky floors, foamy batches, and festivals with 100-degree temperatures – with no tent – Michael was honored by the enthusiastic feedback of his community.
Continuing his grandfather’s love of artistic inspiration, Michael has collaborated with local schools on limited-time labels for Bingo Bango that feature the artwork of school children between the ages of 6 and 14. The young artists were able to find their artwork at restaurants and retailers across the Triad of North Carolina thus reinforcing Bingo Bango’s mission of sharing art and creativity within and beyond their community.
