Steak:
- ¼ c. soy sauce
- 1 ½ lbs. London broil or top sirloin; also works with ribeye
- salt and pepper
Sauce:
- 2 tsp. olive oil
- 2 shallots, minced
- 1 c. Riojana Malbec Reserva 2020
- 1 c. balsamic vinegar
- 1 Tbsp. sugar
Directions:
1) Place soy sauce in a gallon size plastic bag. (Use wheat-free soy sauce for a gluten-free recipe.)
2) Place London Broil in the baggie and press out all air. Place in refrigerator for 1 hr. or overnight.
3) Remove London Broil from marinade and pat dry. Salt and pepper both sides.
4) Cook steak per your preference on the grill, under the broiler, or in a pan on the stove top.
5) In a heavy bottomed sauté pan over medium high heat, sauté shallots in olive oil until translucent. Add wine, balsamic vinegar and sugar and cook, stirring occasionally, until reduced and syrupy.
6) Serve sauce over sliced steak with mashed potatoes or rice.
7) Serves 2 to 3 people.
